I love a good origin story, and mine (like most!) is not linear. Like a bat's flight path, my "career" has been all over the place with a through line of helping people. From special education teacher at a juvenile detention camp, to personal trainer, to stay at home mom of two boys, to personal trainer, to race director, to integral coach, my passion is to help folks to find and navigate the path they're looking for. I create a safe space to explore what’s possible.
I started my personal training career in 2011. My husband started running ultra marathons and at the time the average person who ran an ultra (anything over 26.2 miles!) was 43. It blew me away that folks as old as 70 were running 100 miles. They showed me that just because you're not a professional athlete doesn't mean you have to stop using your body in an athletic way, just because you're "older" doesn't mean you have to grow into your couch. I was inspired to help people use their bodies to open up their world and since then, I've helped hundreds of people feel more safe, capable, and comfortable in their bodies.
In working with folks through personal training, I often found an opportunity to also work with them in a coaching capacity. I realized that I really enjoyed this aspect of my job and wanted to expand on my skillset, so in 2020, I started the Professional Coaching Course through New Ventures West. It was a great way to spend a pandemic and I have been enjoying helping clients do the work of discovering and renovating patterns and shining light on new narratives ever since!
